BREAKING: Mr. McMahon returns to WWE Raw this Monday night!

One week after Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins placed the blame for Monday Night Raw’s recent decline squarely on the shoulders of “General Manager-Elect” Baron Corbin, WWE Chairman and CEO Mr. McMahon will return to the red brand to shake things up, WWE.com can confirm.
The landmark appearance of The Chairman comes one night after WWE TLC, where Corbin intends to be named the permanent General Manager of Raw following a forfeit victory over the injured Braun Strowman in a Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match, per the stipulation handed down by Commissioner Stephanie McMahon. However, rumors abound that The Monster Among Men could make an appearance at this Sunday’s WWE TLC event and stop The Lone Wolf from assuming total control of Team Red.
With Mr. McMahon’s return imminent, however, Corbin could have a lot to answer for regardless of his position. How will The Chairman shake up Monday Night Raw, and who will benefit — or suffer — as a result?
Whatever Mr. McMahon has in store, you won’t want to miss it this Monday night on Raw, live at 8/7 C on USA Network.

Roman Reigns Announces He Is Battling Cancer On WWE Raw

"This isn't a retirement speech," he added. "When I beat this, I will come home and show everyone that I will stand here and swing for the fences. I will beat this, and I will be back, and you'll see me very soon. Thank you so much, I love you, and believe that."

The 33-year-old announced it himself in a devastating Raw opening promo, revealing that he has lived with the disease for the past 11 years. He fought it back into remission at the age of 22 (which was a revelation in itself), but it's back, and he must now return home to focus on his family and health.
Introducing himself as Joe (Anoa'i), Reigns opened up for the crowd. On top of revealing that he was relinquishing the Universal Championship, he paid tribute to the crowd, thanked them for always reacting to him, and the company for "making [my] dreams come true."
”I want to show my family, my friends, my children and my wife that when life throws a curveball at me, I am the type of man that will stand in that batter’s box, I will crowd the plate, I will choke up and I will swing for the fences every single time!”
Our thoughts and well wishes go out to Roman and his family. He has already beaten this terrible illness once, so let's hope he's able to do it again, and get back to doing what he does best.

Did CM Punk Win At UFC 255?

Jackson Punk Ufc
Obviously, the answer to the titular question is an emphatic "no".
In only his second fight in the Octagon, opening last night's UFC 255 PPV, former WWE grappler CM Punk was emphatically beaten via unanimous decision by Mike Jackson. The judges scored the fight 30-26, 30-26, 30-26 in favour of the debuting Jackson.
Punk made a catastrophic MMA bow against Mickey Gall just under two years ago, tapping to his opponent in less than three minutes. His return to combat fared a little better - he lasted a full three rounds this time - but ultimately, he was totally outclassed.
The fight started relatively evenly, and Punk even managed to land a take-down on Jackson. That was about as good as it got for the ex-WWE champ; round two saw him receive several heavy blows to the face, before Jackson appeared to take pity on the neophyte in the deciding round.
It's been a mixed week for Punk, who five days ago was cleared of all charges in his defamation suit against WWE doctor Chris Amman. Obviously his loss cannot be entirely attributed to the distraction of his legal wranglings, but they surely can't have helped.
With two high-profile losses now all he has to show for his foray into combat sport, it's looking increasingly probable that Punk's MMA experiment is coming to a close.

Bray Wyatt Vs. Matt Hardy Announced For WWE 205 Live Shows

Matt Hardy Bray Wyatt
WWE have booked a series of matches between Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt for 205 Live's upcoming house show tour, as announced on their official website last night.
Running from January 19th-21st, the three shows will also feature WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore defending his belt against Kalisto, with Raw's Nia Jax as special referee. The soon-to-debut Hideo Itami will also wrestle at the events.
There's no word on why Wyatt vs. Hardy has been added to the shows, but the move is in line with previous reports that WWE were looking to bring more non-Cruiserweight wrestlers into the 205 Live fold. The likes of Sasha Banks, Alicia Fox, and Titus O'Neil have all featured on the brand this year, but Hardy and Wyatt are the two biggest names to cross over thus fa.
The feud is only a few weeks old, but has spawned WWE's version of Hardys' Broken Universe, with the former Raw Tag Team Champion 'Woken' through his interactions with 'The Eater Of Worlds.' The 205 Live show dates suggest it will continue through January, with a Royal Rumble (28th) singles match a clear possibility.

WWE No Mercy Preview

Here is the advertised card for the WWE No Mercy Pay-Per-View, taking place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

20170821_No_Mercy_BrockBraun(1)--9b8739eb10da8def91fdec40e0f7bb2cBrock Lesnar (c) vs. Braun Strowman for the WWE Universal Championship
-While I would have saved this match for WrestleMania 34, I admit I’m still excited to see it. Strowman has been the MVP of RAW for several months now and he should be rewarded with a title win. Alas, I fear it’s not meant to be. I do think that they’ll find a way to protect Strowman but still have Lesnar come out on top. I’m not sure if a date for Survivor Series is on Lesnar’s 2017 calendar and they could easily go back to this there but I ‘m fairly certain that all roads lead to Lesnar/Reigns at WrestleMania one way or another….Because WWE!
Pediction: Brock Lesnar defeats Braun Strowman to retain the Universal Championship

20170821_No_Mercy_RomanCena--6cff6b3907e8151579ca0d6e0a0b4c97John Cena vs. Roman Reigns
-The promos in the build-up to this match have been phenomenal. Now, it’s time to see if the match itself will deliver (which I think it will). I’ve gone back and forth as to who will win but my gut says Cena wins this.
Prediction: John Cena defeats Roman Reigns

20170918_No_Mercy_WomansMatch--ff75c91d4020451334d2e0a437c6acdfEmma vs. Bayley vs. Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Sahsa Banks vs. Nia Jax in a Fatal-5 Way match for the RAW Women’s Championship
-#GiveEmmaAChanceToGetPinnedByTheWinnerOfThisMatch.
Prediction: Alexa Bliss retains the RAW Women’s Championship

20170901_No_Mercy_tag--6306237aa98adfae93416fc2910d6080Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins (c’s) vs. Cesaro & Sheamus for the RAW Tag Team Championships
-Much like SummerSlam, I find it hard to imagine they had Rollins & Ambrose reunite only to lose their first title defense.
Prediction: Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose defeat Cesaro & Sheamus to retain the RAW Tag Team Championships

20170901_No_Mercy_finnbray--b186328f1c99ad1cce2ff3aba2661515Finn Balor vs. Bray Wyatt
-No Demon = Bray gets his win back (even though he probably shouldn’t).
Prediction: Bray Wyatt defeats Finn Balor

20170901_No_Mercy_nevilleenzo--fd275966fac9d731aa795be010060f0cNeville (c) vs. Enzo Amore for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship
-Bada boom! Realest champ in the room! How you doin’? Nah.
Prediction: Neville defeats Enzo Amore to retain the Cruiserweight Championship

20170918_No_Mercy_MizJordan--82779d0857db4f1c8aac33f2b7abbdedThe Miz (c) vs. Jason Jordan for the WWE Intercontinental Championship
-The angle of Jason Jordan being Kurt Anle’s son has been a bust to this point. Is this the last ditch effort to get Jordan over? Does a loss lead to Jordan snapping and turning heel? Who knows.
Prediction: The Miz defeats Jason Jordan to retain the Intercontinental Championship

20170922_no_mercy_apollo--3d5b540df7c76f9575eee605105be5abApollo Crews vs. Elias (Samson) (Kickoff Match)
-Titus Brand. Titus Worldwide. Does it make much of a difference? Elias (no longer Samson) gets more TV time than Crews these days so I’m guessing he goes for a walk with Elias.
Prediction: Elias defeats Apollo Crews

Trivia
  • he first No Mercy event took place in 1999. In fact, there were two No Mercy events that year. The first was a UK exclusive event that saw Stone Cold Steve Austin defend the WWE Championship against Triple H and The Undertaker in a Triple Threat Match. Five months later, WWE decided to add the event to their regular PPV schedule as their annual October PPV until 2008 before it’s return in 2016.
  • Kurt Angle won his first WWE Championship at No Mercy, defeating The Rock at the No Mercy 2000 event.
  • No Mercy was not kind to The Undertaker over the years. The Phenom emerged victorious only one time at the event, which was in 2001.
  • Eddie Guerrero is the only superstar to have appeared in the opening match of a No Mercy event one year, then appear in the main event the following year.
  • The Undertaker main evented three consecutive No Mercy PPV’s between 2002-2004 but lost all of them. Additionally, all three were WWE Championship matches.
  • It was at the No Mercy 1999 PPV where the famous Tag Team Ladder match between Edge & Christian and The Hardy Boys took place.
  • It was at the 2005 No Mercy PPV where Eddie Guerrero wrestled in his last PPV match for WWE when he faced Batista for the now-retired World Heavyweight Championship
  • The Rock lost World Championships at consecutive No Mercy events in 2000 & 2001. He lost the WWE Championship in 2000 to Kurt Angle and lost the WCW World Championship to Chris Jericho the following year. Coincidentally, both wins were the first world title reigns for Angle & Jericho with the respective titles.
  • Three Ladder matches have taken place at No Mercy. Edge appeared in two of them and won both times. Coincidentally, Christian was involved in both of them (once as a tag team partner and the other as an opponent).
  • To date, the 2002 No Mercy PPV is the only one to take place in the state of Arkansas.
  • The Big Show was victorious in all three of his No Mercy appearances, defeating Eddie Guerrero in 2003 (to win the United States Championship), Kurt Angle in 2004 and The Undertaker in 2008.
  • Chris Jericho was also undefeated at No Mercy and emerged victorious in all of four his matches as well. He defeated X-Pac in a Steel Cage match in 2000, The Rock in 2001 (to win the WCW World Championship), Booker T & Goldust in 2002 (to retain the World Tag Team Championships with Christian) and Shawn Michaels in 2008 (to retain the World Heavyweight Championship in a Ladder Match).
  • The inaugural WWE Tag Team Champions (currently on the RAW brand) were first crowned at the 2002 No Mercy PPV. In the match, Kurt Angle & Chris Benoit defeated Edge & Rey Mysterio in a tournament final to win the gold.
  • The Undertaker competed in four consecutive gimmick matches at No Mercy between 2002-2005 and was defeated in all four. A Hell In A Cell Match in 2002, a Biker Chain Match in 2003, a Last Ride Match in 2004 and a Casket Match in 2005.
  • Only four rematches have ever taken place at No Mercy: The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar (2002 & 2003), the Hardy Boys vs. Edge & Christian (1999 & 2000), Triple H vs. Randy Orton (2007) and Beth Phoenix vs, Candice Michelle (2007 & 2008)
  • Edge was the challenger for three different championships at consecutive No Mercy events from 2000-2002.

Lana & Rusev Deny Reports That They're Leaving WWE

It seems that rumours of Lana and Rusev's WWE demise have been greatly exaggerated.
The couple's status with the company has been the subject of much speculation since August 19th, when it was first rumoured that Rusev had asked to be released from his contract. Pro Wrestling Times first made the claim on Twitter, and the Dirty Sheets Podcast corroborated it, but the reports have now been debunked.
Lana rubbished the rumours last night:-
Rusev followed up, making a mockery of suggestions that Road Dogg had broken up a "heated discussion" between him and the writers:-
WrestleZone.com have also clarified the situation, claiming that "after speaking with several sources close to the situation, there is no truth to the report." Pro Wrestling Times had cited Sean Cleary, WWE's apparent President Of Talent Relations, as their source. Cleary, however, hasn't worked for WWE since October 2015. The original story suggested that Rusev was unhappy with his creative direction after returning from injury in July, hence the request. It had gained significant traction over the past few days, and gathered steam when he was squashed at SummerSlam. Fortunately, it looks like him and Lana will be sticking around a while longer. credits : whatculture.com

Alberto El Patron Becomes TNA Champion At Impact Tapings

Alberto El Patron Tna Champion
ImpactWrestling.com

Last night's TNA Impact Wrestling tapings were always going to be interesting. It was the company's first show with Jeff Jarrett back at the creative helm, and with the likes of Drew Galloway and Matt & Jeff Hardy departing earlier in the week, there'd be plenty of opportunities for new faces to shine.
One of the beneficiaries was Alberto El Patron, whose presence at the tapings was confirmed a few hours before the show began. El Patron wasted no time in making his presence felt by challenging TNA Heavyweight Champion Bobby Lashley to a title match, and in a contest taped for the March 9th episode of Impact, he was victorious.
It was a controversial conclusion with two separate referee bumps and a Dusty finish, but as pictured below, El Patron left with the gold:-

El Patron's first challenger could be Ethan Carter III, who, according to the taping reports, watched the match from the stage.
Lashley's fourth reign as TNA Champion began in January, and he successfully defended the belt against UFC fighter Josh Barnett on last night's Impact broadcast. Further pictures from the event are available below, including a shot of El Patron celebrating with Impact debutants Garza Jr. and Laredo Kid backstage:-

Gillberg Makes WWE Return On Raw

Gillberg Return Raw
WWE.com

Former WWE Light Heavyweight Champion Gillberg returned to WWE television for the first time since 2007 last night.
Chris Jericho was hosting a Festival of Friendship for current WWE Universal Champion and called-out Goldberg, Owens' opponent at Fastlane, about halfway through. The music hit, the chants filled the arena, but it wasn't the former WCW Champion who hit the stage. Instead, Gillberg stumbled out from the backstage area flanked by his trademark "pyrotechnics," and KO wasn't best pleased.
Owens wrecked the returning jobber, then turned his frustration to Jericho, who thought the stunt would have been funny. The Universal Champion later turned on his best friend, destroyed the Festival of Friendship like he destroyed their relationship, then left Jericho for dead.

Debuting in 1998, Gillberg was WWE's way of parodying Goldberg during the Monday Night Wars. Goldberg was WCW's top star at the time, and WWE originally had the idea of having Gillberg lose 173 consecutive matches to poke fun at Goldberg's infamous 173-match winning streak.
Gillberg remains the longest-reigning WWE Light Heavyweight Champion of all-time, and first came face-to-face with Goldberg in April 2003. That meeting ended predictably for Gillberg, who was promptly choked-out, and Goldberg wasn't too impressed by last night's antics either:-

WWE ELIMINATION CHAMBER 2017 PREDICTIONS

20170207_eliminationchamber_tunein_sunday__9fcc33effbe0649ced6c14c6b10a49d7-0
The barbaric structure known as the Elimination Chamber is brought to you by Smackdown Live and features six of the blue brand’s top superstars vying for the WWE Championship and a potential match-up against Royal Rumble winner Randy Orton at Wrestlemania. The card also includes three female singles matches, a rare feat for a WWE pay-per-view. Who will conquer their rivals on the road to Wrestlemania? And who will leave the Elimination Chamber as the WWE Champion?
This year, WWE writer Sam Verlinden and myself are giving our predictions under a competitive nature. After being unable to post his predictions for the Royal Rumble, I am up 1-0, but Sam looks to exact revenge with the Elimination Chamber event. Which analyst will make the most correct picks this week? Here are our predictions:
EF: Elijah Fa’afiu
SV: Sam Verlinden

PRE-SHOW
1) Mojo Rawley vs Curt Hawkins
EF: This potential six-star match-up should see Mojo come out on top.
PREDICTION: MOJO RAWLEY
SV: Mojo.
PREDICTION: MOJO RAWLEY

MAIN SHOW
2) Luke Harper vs Randy Orton
EF: Harper breaking away from the Wyatt Family and turning face has given him new life, but Orton needs to keep up his momentum following his Royal Rumble victory.
PREDICTION: RANDY ORTON
SV: Potential Rowan involvement? Regardless of this, it’s pretty safe to say that the Viper will take this one in relatively swift fashion.
PREDICTION: RANDY ORTON

3) Apollo Crews and Kalisto vs Dolph Ziggler in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match
EF: It makes zero sense having a heel fight against two faces but that’s WWE logic for you. I think Ziggler gets frustrated about not being able to take down either Crews or Kalisto and therefore relies on his trusty friend the steel chair. It gives Crews/Kalisto a victory but makes Ziggler look strong.
PREDICTION: APOLLO CREWS/KALISTO
SV: Up the mighty savage Ziggles. Management have to chuck this man a W and begin to set his sights on bigger things than Crews & Kalisto…. maybe IC title?
PREDICTION: DOLPH ZIGGLER

4) Becky Lynch vs Mickie James
EF: This contest is my pick to be the best female match of the night. Lynch is the top Smackdown Live female draft pick, while James is out to prove she still has what it takes to hang with today’s top performers in the squared circle. I expect James to steal a victory here in her first singles match since her return.
PREDICTION: MICKIE JAMES
SV: Ole Mickie’s first PPV match in yeaaaaaaars. Surely chuck her a lazy bone and give her the W. Lynch will be all good.
PREDICTION: MICKIE JAMES

5) Alexa Bliss (c) vs Naomi for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship
EF: Alexa Bliss is one the hottest talents in the WWE right now (literally and figuratively), so why not continue her momentum against Naomi, who’s picked up some pinfall victories over Bliss as of late.
PREDICTION: ALEXA BLISS
SV: Look for Bliss to retain in this one.
PREDICTION: ALEXA BLISS

6) American Alpha (c) vs Heath Slater/Rhyno vs Breezango vs The Usos vs The Ascension vs The Vaudevillains in a Tag Team Turmoil Match for the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships
EF: You know something’s wrong when all the teams in the SmackDown tag division get put into one whole match. It seems like the easiest pick of the night and unless The Revival make their long-awaited main roster debut, expect AA to retain the tag titles.
PREDICTION: AMERICAN ALPHA
SV: Look, the quality of teams here is pretty average… The Smackdown tag division is in need of a shake up. Surely the Revival gets a call up soon. But in the meanwhile, AA to run the goose.
PREDICTION: AMERICAN ALPHA

7) Nikki Bella vs Natalya
EF: This has been a solid feud but I’m a bit sick and tired about John Cena being mentioned in every Nikki rivalry. Anyways, with Nikki set to take time off after Wrestlemania, expect her to capture a huge win over her former best friend.
PREDICTION: NIKKI BELLA
SV: Yeah ok.
PREDICTION: NIKKI BELLA

8) John Cena (c) vs AJ Styles vs Dean Ambrose vs Baron Corbin vs The Miz vs Bray Wyatt in an Elimination Chamber Match for the WWE Championship
EF: This has the potential to be a match of the year candidate. Everyone in this match is a top in-ring talent and they’ve all been killing it over the past year. In a logical sense, it’s time to put the WWE title on Bray Wyatt so he can go on to face his Wyatt Family partner Randy Orton at Wrestlemania. It’s a top feud that’s waiting to happen, and it all kicks off with the long-awaiting championship coronation of Wyatt.
PREDICTION: BRAY WYATT
SV: Love the possibility of various curveballs that the WWE could throw. The only non potential champs in this outing are Ambrose and Corbin. Miz, Styles, Cena & Wyatt could all potentially walk out as champion. Would love for Styles to take his title back, however I feel a WWE title reign is what Wyatt has needed for far too long. Hopefully he finally gets it.
PREDICTION: BRAY WYATT
