The Undertaker and Shane McMahon have been added to the WrestleMania go home Raw.
The March 28 Raw will be in Brooklyn, New York, and it will be WWE’s opportunity to put Shane and Taker face to face in the build up to their Hell In A Cell match.
This confrontation was definitely needed. So far, both Shane and Taker have appeared separately, in segments that involved facing off with Vince McMahon. The WrestleMania match was in danger of being overshadowed by Vince, with very little development of animosity between Shane and Taker. For a Hell In A Cell match, that would have been a big mistake. The two opponents need to have a personal animosity.
The go home Raw will give them that opportunity. It is also a chance to make a statement with Shane, perhaps by having him attack The Undertaker and sending the message that he can hurt the deadman. Key to this narrative is getting the part time businessman over as a credible threat to the legendary wrestler. Surely he ends up doing something of note against the icon on March 28.
Previously, WWE weren’t advertising The Undertaker for any more Raw events. By waking up to the underdevelopment in their story, they now have the chance to turn the heat up for April 3.
