Following rumors that WWE was interested in bringing back former Tag Team Champion Curt Hawkins, the company and the erstwhile superstar have reportedly reached a deal.
As such, Hawkins was backstage at Tuesday's Smackdown Live, and is expected to appear on TV for the blue brand shortly.

Long Island natives (and Mikey Whipwreck trainees) Hawkins and Zack Ryder were signed by WWE in 2006. They debuted in the new ECW the following year as Brian and Brett Major, respectively, but failed to make an impact until they were moved to Smackdown and renamed. They became known as "The Edgeheads," flunkies for "The Rated-R Superstar." At the 2008 Great American Bash, the pair won the WWE Tag Team Titles.
After splintering from Edge, the pair soon lost the belts. Zack Ryder was repackaged as "Long Island Iced Z," while Hawkins was sent to Florida Championship Wrestling. He returned to the main roster in 2010, and soon formed a Magic Mike-inspired male stripper tag team with Tyler Reks on Raw.

When Reks chose to leave the company, Hawkins was on his own. After rehabbing an injury, he turned up in NXT, but he was released in 2014.
