Paige has been all over the wrestling news cycle lately.
First there was the 30 day suspension, then there was the 60 day suspension, then her and her entire family went on social media to say how unfair that was, because she was only using prescription painkillers. WWE then effectively shut that down by saying she was busted for an illegal substance.
The only thing everyone could agree on is that she's injured and needs surgery. Right?
Apparently not, as WWE doesn't think she needs her upcoming surgery (scheduled for 19. Oct), which would keep her out of the ring for 6-9 months.
Dave Meltzer has noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that the company may not even pay for her medical treatment if they think she doesn't need it.
Paige hasn't competed in a WWE ring since 27 June, so if the surgery does happen, worst case scenario means she'll miss nearly an entire year of in-ring action. However, you have to wonder if the company will even bring her back at all when she's ready to return.
There's been so much drama between the two sides, that's it's hard to imagine this will end with things going back to normal. This is also likely not anywhere near the end of their ongoing public battle.
