WWE Raw: 8 Things To Expect Tonight (Mar 21) Part 3

3. A Big Battle Royal Segment

WWE.comAccording to WWE.com, tonight could see a few more competitors step forward for WrestleMania 32’s Andre the Giant battle royal:

‘Thus far, the only competitors to cast their lots in the WrestleMania melee are The Social Outcasts, but it’s safe to say the field will widen soon enough. Who will be the next to attempt to follow in Cesaro and Big Show’s shoes?’

Heath, Curtis, Bo and Rose aside, it’s quite hard to see how WWE will fill out the match. With so many injuries thinning out the ‘Mania card, we could even potentially see some NXT figures make a surprise appearance.

2. A Surprise Appearance Or Two?

WWE.comThis week’s Raw is in Philadelphia, which means we could potentially see the appearance of a few old ECW faces. Tommy Dreamer and Rhyno recently involved themselves in a brief feud with the Wyatt Family, and it wouldn’t be too big a surprise to see the veterans involved once more.
However, instead of teaming with the Dudleys (as they did at the end of 2015), the old favourites could find themselves squaring off against Bubba Ray and D-Von – who are now several weeks into their confusing heel turn.

The pair’s shtick seems to be teasing the crowd with promises of table spots, only to win matches via distraction or roll-up. Maybe a couple of old ECW names could remind the pair what it means to be hardcore…

1. A Very Hostile Crowd

WWE.comIf the word ‘Philadelphia’ didn’t immediately set off alarm bells in your head, you may want to brace yourself for tonight’s show. The home of ECW has always provided boisterous, often hostile crowds – particularly towards clean-cut fan favourites such as John Cena…and current WrestleMania main eventer Roman Reigns.

Philadelphia was the site of a near-mutiny at the 2015 Royal Rumble, which saw Reigns steamroll his way to an incredibly unpopular victory. When even The Rock can’t persuade a crowd to pop for you, you know you’re in trouble.
Perhaps Roman should be thankful that WWE seem to have ditched his crowd entrance, replacing it with a more conventional arrival – otherwise he may have found himself on the end of a few stray beers.
Needless to say, it should be an interesting reception for the Big Dog…
