After Cena gave a promo talking about the new era and how he's still around and isn't going to roll-over easily, AJ Styles theme music hit. Styles made his way down to the ring, and once he and Cena stood face to face in the ring, the fans erupted in dueling chants of "AJ Styles" and "Lets Go Cena." The chants went on, loudly, for quite some time before Styles finally broke in on the microphone.
Styles gave a total babyface promo, talking about how he always heard good things about Cena and didn't understand the hate he receives. He talked about hearing how Cena is always the first to the arena and the last to leave, an
d Styles said he just came out to say welcome back.
The two then shook hands, but they were interrupted by Anderson and Gallows' theme music. As the duo made their way down to the ring, questioning wha
t the heck AJ was doing, Styles attacked Cena from behind.
The segment ended with Styles in true heel form, re-uniting officially with his former partners and holding up the wolfpack sign in the middle of the ring (to loud boos from the crowd). As they walked up the ramp, Styles loudly yelled about "doing the world a favor."
During what was an otherwise pretty lackluster RAW, this segment was booked perfectly and was a good reward for everyone who stayed tuned into the show.
