World
Wrestling Entertainment has had something of a shocker when it comes to
injuries over the last year or so. Pretty much every major name in the
company, from John Cena to Cesaro to Bray Wyatt to Seth Rollins, has
been struck down in one way or another and been forced to miss time. This
means that whenever a referee throws up an 'X' at a live event these
days, all WWE fans immediately fear the worst.
Kevin Owens is the latest to be subject to such fears. At a WWE live event in Columbia, South Carolina, this past weekend, Owens was up against blood rival Sami Zayn, and it was Zayn who came out victorious thanks to a Blue Thunder Bomb. Referee Charles Robinson threw up the 'X' after the match, and Owens was helped to the back.
Of course, such things could mean nothing more than precaution. No other reports have come out of the show suggesting anything more than a precautionary measure. Even so, Owens has become such a vital part of the main roster in WWE that even the slightest fear he may be injured should be taken seriously.
