In a move that is probably long overdue, WWE is planning a return to Canada for this year's Survivor Series PPV.
It will be the first time WWE has held their November PPV, which has been a yearly special since 1987, in Canada since the infamous 1997 Survivor Series in Montreal.
This will also be only the fifth time WWE has held a PPV in Toronto, and it is the first WWE PPV to be held in the country of Canada since Breaking Point in 2009 (Montreal). The last time Toronto hosted a PPV show was in 2006 for Unforgiven. Previous to that, Toronto hosted the 2004 edition of SummerSlam, as well as WrestleMania VI (1990) and WrestleMania X-8 (2002).
PWInsider first broke the news about Survivor Series, and it was later confirmed by Dave Meltzer via Twitter.
The full list of WWE PPV cities and dates for the rest of 2016 are as follows:
June 19th: WWE Money in the Bank in Las Vegas.
July 24th: WWE Battleground in Washington, DC.
August 21st: WWE Summerslam in Brooklyn, NY.
September 25th: WWE Night of Champions in Indianapolis, Indiana.
October 30th: WWE Hell in A Cell in Boston, MA.
November 20th: WWE Survivor Series in Toronto.
December 18th: WWE TLC in Pittsburgh
